This may already exist in a level somewhere, or maybe not - in the level Cae06 by Chuckthulhu, near the end of the level, B has to pass between two motors in order to get to the exit, and while he finally does make it, sometimes they force B backwards. Has anyone ever done it the other way around? That is, using motors - or a row of them - to push B along his way, as if he's on a conveyor belt. If something like that works, then it's possible that you could even shoot B across a gap. And something that I presume is just another quirk in the game: to get B to that section with the two motors, you get him across on the draggable that you reveal. Spoiler When you slam him into the back of the stairs with the draggable, instead of being knocked off of it, he hops over the stairs. I presume this is just something normal in the game.
I was thinking more along the lines of two rows of motors that B has to go between, or a single row of motors on one side, and a wall on the other, something that B could slide along with the motors 'pushing' him.
Something like that, but a longer trail of them, like they're sending B along a chute or slide. "Leap of faith" is a good name for that level, because all you can do is wait and hope that something happens.
That might be difficult, because if you have two motors right next to each other the rotation of them will cause friction between the two and they won't rotate smoothly. That's why in my Ball QA level there is a shaft between each motor. But what if you try this for each row, this is looking from the side (M is motor, S is shaft): MSMS SMSM Do you see, alternate motor and shaft on top/bottom?
Now *that* does sound interesting. I wonder how big a gap B could 'jump' with a row of motors like that? Could he pass over just one empty spot, or more? What would be his air speed velocity? I'd do it myself, but I haven't really played with building a level yet.
@D.S.Masters I tried it and it doesn't work, they really don't rotate fast enough and B is big and barely fits through so he basically just gets squeezed through. That does create a nice one way hallway though, B can go with but not back through opposing the motors. You might have to do something more like a turnstile, have a motor with a shaft on it which would give higher speeds.
