If you create a level you can start it from where you want. But not if you play a downloaded level. The question is: If a level is completable only from the creator can it be considered completable or uncompletable? Spoiler
I'd say uncompletable, and I have quite a few of them. Spoiler A level is only completable if it can be done from the card, instead of requiring one to be in the editor first. I've learned over time to test levels after backing out of the editor completely first, and I also switch off the free camera before testing.
Wow, I never really did give any thoughts to that. I usually complete a level in the same create a level page. I also have turned on free camera. Does that have any differences when the free cam is turned off? But than again why would that pose any kind of a problem, as everyone can turn on free cam. But yeah! that is really a thought provoking question on whether a level that is completable by the creators, is completable by other players as well. Usually the only backdrop is when a level needs few tricks and the players don't know how to do those tricks. Other than that what else can cause such situation? Its not like anyone can hack into it and finish the level that others cannot complete it.
In the example @meko provided, the timing is very very very tight, and in the creator mode, you can rotate the level from a view before playing. You can't do that as a player. Also, the outcome of some mechanisms and configurations change once you exit the level editor and reenter. You can make a level so that you will need the original outcome to win, as when a player scans the level, it will give the other outcome.
Oh! Wow, sorry i didn't think that through. Thanks for explaining. Perhaps it does pose a threat on the genuineness of a tick marked level card.
I would consider a level created under that scenario unbeatable. I ran into this when I created 13.8 Seconds and had to remove one step from the puzzle because as a creator I was able to set up the proper camera angle before playing, essentially adding the ability to move 1 more slider than a player who has to move the camera an extra time.
@explorer - How is that payable at all? I replicated it in my designer, and it's just as impossible. And regarding the original question - my take is that if it can't be completed in the player, then what's the point in sharing it? Other than for curiosity, as in this thread.
Well perhaps now we can say that a tick marked level doesn't always mean that a level is completable.
Open the level. Delete B completely. Add B's body and eye. Without exiting the editor first, play the level. For what it's worth, I normally will give creators the benefit of the doubt, especially those with good track records.
I like that @meko's card image has a check mark on it. That sounds like a memory problem, not an uncompletable problem.
Spurred on by @richardfu_'s success, i solved it too.. Spoiler .. by repeatedly tapping on this block while B is on the inside of the structure. In the end he falls off and lands in the water, making the win block accessible. Difficult but not impossible - probably the forbidden tripping on air trick, or the frowned-upon momentum / inertia technique. (sometimes i forget the preferred names, especially of the magic whose names should not be used)
