I hope I have made the first mechanism work more smoothly. I also removed the steps that allowed @ridgerunner 's little shortcut, although I did enjoy seeing B disappearing down the hole!
It can be a bit sticky, , sometimes you have to wait and it sorts itself, but it can just jam up sometimes. You do have to release the balls to drop into the lower section at the right time, or it will definitely not work, . Thanks for playing and rating. You're getting back to my earlier efforts now!
