(The level can be finished also withouth it,but it's more difficult)

Solved, but on the opposite side I couldn't move the target block up to the same level as the grass. I crossed the gap by jamming the slider into the grass temporarily......Is it intended?

Absolutely no,this is cheating².
Find another clean way.

It seems there's no way I could move that block up to fill the gap......Does it actually require B to go beneath the surface and cross the gap by autopilot?

@Block builder Got it, thanks. I was wondering why the other three sides are so much easier to solve, but now I know the answer. I like the twist on such a tried-and-true puzzle genre, though not a big fan of elements that are hidden for the sake of being hidden.
