The solution was much easier and quicker than the level suggests. Spoiler: Shortcut? B steps on top of pillar R and falls into the water. B then walks around to the vertical slider around the corner. B climbs on top of the vertical slider. Move the vertical slider up and B walks to the win.
@GFJ Spoiler Wow. I can't believe you found it. It was a little gimmick put into it to pay homage to the previous version of this level design.

Nice puzzle when played as design, but Spoiler the lift that reaches the ground creates a classic shortcut, as others have noted.
