Help B escape a disastrous rocket launch and abort the mission. Involves a strict sequence of equipment moves. Detailed checklist with diagram and video solution provided.
The game is fairly simple if the launch sequence is followed but more experienced players may wish to work out the sequence independently.

The Mission
Your mission is to transport the main stage of the rocket to the launch pad using the transport crawler, join upper and lower stages, fuel the rocket and finally initiate launch. Unfortunately all will not go well and B will have to perform an emergency evacuation to the launch gantry where he has to sound the alarm (star) and finally hit the base shut down (win block).

Very important, if not following detailed checklist. The platform to raise the upper stage must be lowered to slot into the fixed launch platform before the crawler is released.
The same platform must be lowered to ground level before attempting to fuel the rocket. Failure to do both will require a restart.

I still remember getting up in the middle of the night to watch the grainy black and white footage of the first ever Moon Landing. Prior to the launch of the mission the Saturn V rocket was transported by road from the assembly hall to the launch pad. This was achieved by a huge tracked crawler device built the Marion Co of Ohio, the largest land vehicle ever created. As part of my engineering apprenticeship I worked on Marion earth moving equipment built under licence in Scotland. Two incentives to try to recreate the scene in Mekorama.

Many of my earlier levels use automatic 'fold out' designs. In this one you, the player, have to build the scene manually.
There are four main sequences:-
1) Raise the top stage of the rocket to the top of the launch gantry and lock in place.
2) Release the crawler to transport the main stage of the rocket on to the launch pad.
3) Move the main propulsion unit into position under the main stage of the rocket.
4) Release all support mechanisms, release the final restraining arm and pray.

Detailed checklist

1) Move the moveable road (a) forward to allow B to ride the crew elevator up to the access gantry.
2) The elevator is slow so, while it is rising , swing the three stabilisation arms (b c d) at the launch pad to the upright position.
3) Very carefully raise the upper stage elevator (e) till the upper stage is cradled in the stabilisation arms. Please note the warnings below regarding (e), correct timing and positioning is vital to success of the mission.
4) Again carefully, slide the upper stage support slider (f) under the upper stage support blocks.
5) Warning - miss this step and a restart will be required.
Lower the upper stage elevator (e) to fill the gap in the launch gantry support platform (g).
Warning - miss this step and a restart will be required.
6) Move the moveable road (a) back to original position
7) Move B from top of elevator to edge of access ramp.
8) Move Crawler restraint slider (h) to start Crawler.
9) Move B to main rocket stage taking star.
10) Wait till Rocket comes to a stop and swing rear support tower (j) into position. Move locking slider (k) to lock the rear support tower.
11) Wait till Crawler clears the launch gantry support platform or, when front wheels dip off road, pull the road (a) forward taking the crawler with it speeding up the process. Note that in any case the road should be pulled forward.
12) Warning - miss this step and a restart will be required.
Lower the upper stage elevator (e) to ground level.
Warning - miss this step and a restart will be required.
13) Carefullly pull back the upper stage support slider (f) allowing the upper stage to drop into place. If it sticks use the upper stage restraint slider (l) to nudge it to fall.
14) Lock the upper stage onto the main body of the rocket using the upper stage restraint slider (l).
15) Move the main engines restraint sllder (m)..
16) Swing the main engine compartment door (n) away.
17) Very carefully slide the main engine assembly (red bots)(p) forward into the engine bay. The pod might react violently when it clears the storage bay but should settle in place in the compartment at the base of the rocket. It can be moved manually into place if necessary.
18) Swing the main engine compartment door (n) back into place. Not essential but advised.
19) Swing the upper stage stabilisation arms (b c d) away from the upper stage.
20) If required swing the main engine compartment door (n) away.
21) Pray
22) Slide back the upper stage restraint slider (l).
23) Step B onto the gantry as the rocket rises
24) Take the final star, (launch base emergency alarm), and the Win Block, (mission abort).

Предыстория

Fantastic recreation of the Saturn V launch. The deliberate slow rise of the elevator feels authentic and the crawler looks great. Satisfying to get everything in the correct order like a pre flight check list.

My apprenticeship nearly came to an abrupt end while working on the Marion equipment. The team went away to departmental meeting leaving me alone on site. The temptation was too much so I climbed into the cab of the nearest excavator and started it up. I was still happily digging away when the foreman arrived back. Lucky white heather but luckily I got away with just a flea in my ear. /SPOILER]

It was wonderful to figure out the sequence. A great set of mechanisms, and good to see the rocket was supposed to fall. Thanks for the amount of work this must has taken.

Thank you @Block builder. It has been a work in progress for some time. My initial design aim was for the rocket to soar effortlessly into space but it is inherently unstable and when it starts to clear the guides things inevitably go pear shaped. I actually prefer the disaster scenario. A huge explosion and fireball would have been icing on the cake but I couldn't come up with anything.

I was still trying to figure it out when I found a shortcut and quickly won, taking all the stars. I liked the Level Idea level design and the work done in it.
