Strangely the only times I captured the star was when using a viewing angle that prevented me from seeing the ball clearly.

I could only keep a ball to win if I forcefully try to drag slider upwards even though I cannot move it. I felt this is due to some kind of sensory effect of the slider rail and metal ball. I also found something similar to that effect.

@Soohaeib Afeef Hosen Correct! I cannot confirm if the reason is correct though.
