In case you're wondering, the title is a reference to the show Stranger Things: "The Upside Down is a dimension existing in parallel to the dimension inhabited by humans. The Upside Down contains the same locations and infrastructure, but it is much darker, colder and foggier." And thanks to @chemi and @Jose Luis Galiano for testing it! Lastly, you can go to this thread for more remakes of Level 1 (Crash Course).
This level is a wonderful twist of the original level #1. Although you can barely make it out, the win block is in a familiar place and gets the nostalgic thoughts going - that is once you can breath from having to act so quickly at the start. When I saw @gmacpro's comment about this being a logic level, I was like what? But despite all the action required, there are several puzzle parts to figure out too. Paradoxically a path puzzler perhaps? What I do know is that it was a lot of fun! Quite a few tricks and exercises to do in such a small area with traps too, and a zapper bot to boot. I love the attention to detail from the terraced earth a mirror of the underwater portion of the original complete with wedges to the view of part of the house from the inside. And hardly any block space was spared from being needed/used. Simply a well balanced, smartly thought out, and entertainingly engaging level. Thanks for the play!
Thanks for the review @nGord! I was actually waiting for it! I really enjoy your attention to detail when leaving a rating! It's a shame that you can't flip the whole level, other than the water I'm pretty sure that the remake is just like the original block by block, you can even see (and move) the slider like in the original! But anyway, it is what it is. I'm glad you had fun!
After seeing so many versions of first official level, I never thought it was going to be possible to see a real original new one... and you did it. Really nice level with right balance between pure logic and some tricks. Thanks!
Thanks for the rating @Khudrat! It is, block by block... except for the water and the opening in the back (and the whole level underneath it )...
@Chuckthulhu How do you know? We don't know what's underground in the official level. (well except for those QR decoders, they take away all the mystery )
I should have used that as the description @Block builder! "After decoding the QR code of level 1, this is what was found underneath..."
