the exact name lol.
your clue help me find more info,
it was inveted by Noyes Chapman in 1803
and the puzzle oftenly called as "15 puzzle"

@Ray Aznable When I was a kid I had "15 puzzle" lol (or "8 puzzel" I forgot)

no wonder now you able to build good level
in young age.
