@ridgerunner Yes, it totally is an Archimedes screw I already had made one (2 actually) with Helix Double, inside SpellBook. So… Spoiler: BONUS (clickable and playable at once) Thanks for playing !
Excellent mech level. Throughly enjoyed the build and play. From the tilt on the screw and subtle slopes controlling ball speed, to watching B rise to the top. Thanks for sharing.
@ArGee I’ve been on your media page to remind me your levels. Which are also the mech type So you are definitely in position to appreciate the time it took to obtain this Yes the speed of the slope is calculated so that B is not ejected… Thanks !!!
This is so cool! I want one in reality to calm me down as I look at it. Oh and thanks for the stairs from the white floor. B needed them.
You are welcome, the stairs are really needed because sometimes, mekorama physics is kind of random . I would have gone crazy without them. For the IRL version, if an engineer wants to build a startup company with me ? And if you need some calm, I can publish an earlier version of this with no bot and only balls (plenty) just for watching ?? Thanks for your feedback ! And playing of course
@Valentin Haha, thanks. That would have been a very quick visit as I am not even close to being a prolific builder . You are correct I do enjoy the mechs and yours are elegant. I particularly wanted to acknowledge the unseen effort you expended to design, build and test this 'simple' mech.
@Block builder kay kay Spoiler: BONUS 2 : Time Killer I wanted to post that later on, with other time machines ... let's call it a pre-print! Don't waste too much time with that or you will lose your precious calm in the end
Re. Time Killer I am mildly embarrassed to confess that as a Mek-tek-head, I just watched that full cycle . Over the course of the run it lost 3 balls on the lift, which added tension wondering if the star ball would also drop out , I pleased to report it didn't drop and finished as designed .
@ArGee Of course I did the same experience, and I still don’t know if I would have done better if I hadn’t spent so much time at this ?! The 3 balls give a pretty good idea of the performance of the machine (if we admit that the motors are cost-less ah ah).
