Hello, kind adventurers of the Book

W, an old magician – and now bookseller - asked B to go in search of the “Spell Book”, an old grimoire of which no one has kept track...

Starting from the level on the parchment below, there are paths to follow out of the level, and they are numbered. The level below has a path going out of it, numbered 1. So go next to level 1 in the spoilers posted below. That level 1 has two numbered paths going out of it. And so on. There are many stars in the levels to find and challenges to collect them. It's an extended, multi-card world to explore.

Come on, B is waiting for you to start his quest !

The parchment and all the Meko-level cards are clickable and playable online immediately. Try it!

Many thanks to the developers for Mekorama and play.mekorama.com! Thanks also to @Gepeto for mekostudio.com!

For such a pluri-levels game, a video solution or several videos would be far too long … to me ! But in case of extreme necessity ;) you can refer to the...

    • 1 The Meadow
      • 743 Smokin'House
        • 1701 The Pond
          • 015 Tree Parchment (or 150 Top of the Tree)
          • 1329 : Message in the Clouds

          • 486 Sea Shore
          • 218 At Sea
          • 175 The Black Rock > 928 Map of the Quest !
      • 1125 CourtYard
        • 248 Castle Hall
          • 99 Dark Cellars
          • 1307 The Well

(Ah ah. I searched this thread in "General" before to remember you had moved it here :rotf:)

    Thank you very much @cimarronline
for all that work (copying, adaptating the links, summarizing and enlightning the concept of the level.
I am obliged to publicly confess that such an exposition is very cool !
I hope it will be useful for something else in the future !;)

    @Chris Hester
Your request made me smile because it has to see mith my major problem in Spell Book : to make some level with interesting gameplay though it doesn't come to me naturally like it is the case for other - prolific- designers.
So I want to answer yes but I would love someone else to do it for me !!!
Do you have any idea ???

    @MekoMole
I won't say I didn't think about it ... But I did what I could with what there is ! Actually, at some point, I considered to add the numbers for B can come back in previous level. But it was too late for me and didn't want to re-design what was already done. I would have to make copies of each level with B in a different position.
Of course it offers new possibilities in matter of gameplay. But it was too much work for me.:D
I mentally asked the players to take some notes on a sheet of paper.

@Valentin There was no implied criticism in my comment regarding a new type of win block, it was merely an off the cuff observation. What you have done is above and beyond the call of duty and has excited the interest of many designers on the forum. We are all extremely gratefull.
At one point in the discussion of the level you mentioned the possibility of collaboration between designers. I personally am interested in this concept but would have to add the caveat that, these days, I am very unpredictable and unreliable.
Is it worth discussing and formulating some criteria and standards for contributions. If this was attractive to designers?
Perhaps themes could be added to the core module? If I wished to contribute I could be allocated entry and exit numbers to produce a module. This would require coordination by a dedicated individual not afraid of a herculean task.
You yourself have commented on text font. Again no criticism implied, there is no way I personally would backtrack and amend text in previous modules. However a universally recognised alphabet for future contributions would be desirable I think.
@Denis Nazin in a reply to you regarding one of his own levels mentioned the concept of B exiting a level and entering the linked level at the corresponding entry point. This interests me but could possibly cause problems for the designer in the next level of the chain if forced to wait for the location? I still like the idea.
Some random thoughts which hopefully are useful.

    Once again, THANK YOU.

@Valentin please forgive me! I tried your wonderful design "The Book" again and realised B is in the level! I just needed to click on the floor.

Now all you needed was a star on the top of the stairs and that would be enough.

Btw the flickering zappers on the dark walls reminded me of Quake on the PC. I am not sure why.

Hello ! I understood you perfectly and saw no criticism in what you wrote, don’t worry. On the contrary :)
Very happy to read about your enthusiasm to extend or to create a new story. Happy to see that you have ideas, that people have ideas.
I’m like you : unpredictable :rotf: with plenty of other things to do … but I will take the time in a few days to consider about those ideas that we have and to make a proposition.
    See you !

Don’t mention it ! Have you added a start at the top of the stairs ?
I guess I didn’t do it to preserve the book from any danger. And to offer B a rest before he flies to another adventure.

like I said in the n-1 comment, I will take a few days off but will try to make a proposal for the future to some level designers. So you’ll hear from me

No, because I only use the app and so I can't edit your level. It should be very easy for you to do though. :) Perhaps you could replace the level in Spell Book with a new version with a star? Think of it as a minor upgrade! Of course if you don't want to then it's fine as it is.
